The Brain's Benefits During Exercise

segments of the brain

We have physical body, and our bodies like to be physical. Everywhere you look you see articles on the benefits of exercising. As I have gotten older I tend to be less physical. Yes, I still work (which happens to be labor) but, I have stopped running. I have stopped going to the Gulf to swim for a couple of hours. The majority of my day is sitting around waiting.

The result is that my overall health has suffered. I have gain weight, my blood pressure will spike and I use hibiscus tea to lower it. So this lack of exercise is leading me down the road to a heart attack, stroke, and a general loss of quality in my life.

Everyone agrees that exercise is physically great for the body. However, did you know that exercise also has a wide variety of benefits for the human brain? What exactly happens in our brains when we exercise to have such an impressive effect on our mental health?

fuel my brain inspiration through creativity
There is so much information out there in the news and in the papers about carbohydrates. They are good for you, they are bad for you. Just like the egg in the 70's. With all this different information, it has done only one thing. Confuse me. So I wanted to find out what is, fuel for my brain, and if carbs are important.

So it seems that when you feel sluggish, confused, irritable, and even foggy-headed, these conditions can be attributed to your brain being hungry. Yea! that right, your brain just does not have enough energy to do its job proper. And let us face it the brain has a lot of work to do.
