Our bodies has a natural ability to heal itself. Our bodies natural healing process kicks in to correct all kinds of health problems, from illnesses to injuries. After a hard days work it has to recover, you have to be in shape to get up and do it again.
According to Wikipedia this is the definition of healing.
Every time we get cut or get sick the bodies healing system starts doing it job. It only takes a few days for the cuts to heal and symptoms of our illness weakens as days go by. When we neglect our bodies for too long is usually when disease will set in. It is due to the neglect that the body just does not have the ability to heal itself.
Our bodies are made up of millions of cells. These cell have the ability regenerate themselves. They take in nutrition until they get enough energy, then they divide, making two daughter cells. When we cut or damage our bodies, the surrounding cell of the affected area goes to work to heal the damage.
When bleeding occurs in our bodies the blood vessel in the infected area contact to slow down the bleeding. That way a blood clot can form around the injury. White blood cell rush to the injury cleaning up the dead cell and fighting any foreign invaders that has entered the body.
White blood cell make up 1% of our blood. They have a life expectancy of four to five days. They are the fighting force for our health. It is a good thing that they reproduce quickly.
Our natural healing process is on the job, working 24/7, every day of our lives. Through out our bodies cell are damaged or die, and have to be replaced. I read back in high school that we are totally replaced (new cells) every seven years.

With an understanding of how the body heals itself, let us have a look at how a healthy lifestyle contributes to a healthy body.
With our bodies at peak performance, it can and does heal itself from injury and disease. Living a healthy lifestyle means you are actively pursuing the highest level of health possible for your body. This includes balancing your physical, mental, social, environmental and spiritual well being.
Getting a full nights sleep will help in preventing many diseases. Our bodies use very little energy in sleep mode and can use the energy in healing and cell regeneration. Most of us require 8 hours of sleep a night. A kid can use 11 to 12 hours a night. They are still growing and need the time and energy to do so.
Eating a nutrient rich diet and avoiding processed food, preservatives, artificial additives or anything that does not come in its natural form, improves the natural healing process. This is not something that is easy to do. Here in the states, if it is bad for you, you can afford it. The healthy alternatives (organic grown) are usually out of range in most peoples budgets.
Consuming a diet of fruits, vegetables, lean meats, nuts and seeds allows the body to digest them easily. Eating them raw or lightly steamed preserves the enzymes, (needed for digestion) antioxidant, and the nutritional value of the foods. The less you heat your food the better it is for you. That is why I use a NutriBlaster (there is a link in the side bar) to liquefy the food I put in it. Giving me all the nutrients that they have to offer.
Pesticides, growth hormones and other toxins found in non-organic foods can lead to illness and disease. I think that because of the use of growth hormones is the reason that we have seven foot tall teenagers and eleven and twelve year old girls menstruating. But, that is just my personal opinion, have not read anything to back it up.
Exercise helps the body become strong, improves stamina, promotes balance and strengthens the body core. Maybe the most important benefits of regular exercise is that it conditions the cardiovascular system to pump stronger, reduces emotional stress and improves sleep.
While your body can heal itself naturally, it cannot do, as good as it should, if you keep flooding it with unhealthy choices. Living a healthy lifestyle allows you to take a proactive approach to health rather than a reactive one, once a problem arises. If you are tired of being a couch potato and dealing with aches and pains, consider restoring your body’s good health by making changes to your life.
According to Wikipedia this is the definition of healing.
HealingAll of that can be summarized in a few words - literally meaning to make whole, ether by new cells or repairing the damage cell resulting in scar tissue.
(literally meaning to make whole) is the process of the restoration of health to an unbalanced, diseased or damaged organism.
With physical damage or disease suffered by an organism, healing involves the repair of living tissue, organs and the biological system as a whole and resumption of normal functioning. It is the process by which the cells in the body regenerate and repair to reduce the size of a damaged or necrotic area and replace it with new living tissue. The replacement can happen in two ways: by regeneration in which the necrotic cells are replaced by new cells that form similar tissue as was originally there; or by repair in which injured tissue is replaced with scar tissue. Most organs will heal using a mixture of both mechanisms.
How the Healing Process Works
